Fenwick Cottage is located in Higham which is based in the heart of Suffolk’s Constable Country in the East of England. Some guests visit us because of their love and appreciation of the works of John Constable. As a landscape artist, he based his works on creating beautiful and atmospheric paintings of the local area which he spent most of life in. When you stay at Fenwick Cottage, you’ll feel a strong connection to some of Constable’s most famous paintings including the likes of ‘Dedham Vale’ and ‘The Hay Wain’ which were both completed in 1821.
Yet, you do not need a passion for art to appreciate this charming part of the world. All our guests are blown away by the breath-taking scenery in Higham which will of course begin with your base here at Fenwick Cottage. Situated in fifteen acres of private parkland, this provides you with a wonderful retreat to stretch your legs in and perhaps walk the family dog. If you choose to stay close to your accommodation, you’ll find plenty to do within. You can use the time to unwind, spend time with your travel companions and soak in the peaceful atmosphere and stunning views from your window.
