Crown Cottage is a classic 16th Century Suffolk cottage, in a commanding position in Stoke-by-Nayland, one of the county’s prettiest villages. Originally three cottages and a bakehouse, Crown Cottage has been lovingly converted into a well-proportioned and generously sized house with a private garden. With original period features and a recent redecoration, the cottage exudes the perfect balance between old world charm and modern comfort. Being just a stone’s throw away from two of the area’s best pubs, a bookshop and a charming village store, Crown Cottage offers a warm village experience surrounded by the stunning Suffolk countryside that families and gathering friends alike are sure to fall in love with.
The Ground Floor
Entrance Hall/ Dining Room – White-washed original beans and antique cupboard, dining table and four chairs.
Kitchen – Refectory table with eight chairs, sideboard, dishwasher, electric cooker & hob and walk in larder.
Drawing Room – Thick carpets, large sofa and armchairs orientated around a log fireplace with gilded mirror above the mantel piece.
Sitting Room – Sanded wooden floor, large sofa and armchairs, 42” smart TV and French windows opening straight onto the garden.
Utility room – Sink and worktop with further door to garden.
Washroom – Lavatory and hand sink.
Utility room – Sink and washing machine.
First Floor
Master Bedroom – Anteroom with table and two chairs, double bed, chest of drawers.
Shower Room – Modern walk-in power shower with lavatory and sink.
The Literary Bedroom – Double bed, dressing table and large cupboard.
Angel Bedroom –King-size bed, chest of drawers, large wardrobe and cupboard.
Crown Bedroom – Twin beds, chest of drawers and dressing table.
Family Bathroom – Bath, lavatory and handbasin.
Outside
Enclosed dog-proof garden with mature lawn and plants featuring a pergola and a terrace with table and chairs for eight. Slated outbuilding at the end.

Stoke-by-Nayland is set overlooking the stunning Stour and Box Valleys, and is a popular location for country retreat lovers. The village has many cottages and timber-framed houses, and is a picture-perfect village to while away some time in.
When you stay at Crown Cottage, you will have easy access to some truly stunning countryside walks, especially through the Box and Stour Valleys, making it the perfect location for a relaxing and tranquil getaway.

Dogs Welcome
Provisions
On arrival you will be treated to a Welcome Basket containing milk, fresh locally baked loaf and cake, jar of marmalade, slab of butter, choice of two cereals and a bottle of wine to wash it all down.
The kitchen is equipped with tea, coffee, sugar, dish soap & tablets, and hand soap. For the fire we give you a generous box of logs, with lighters and kindling, and more can be requested.
All bedlinen is 100% Egyptian cotton and pillows are feather & down (two per guest). All guests also get 100% cotton towels that are large, white and generously threaded and accompanied by toiletries and plenty of loo paper.
There is an iron and board, hairdryer and ample clothes storage in drawers and on coat hangers.
